Day 3 of running esports kids camps for the first time and so far I've learned:
- fortnite and minecraft >>>
- 67 is cringe
- coffee is a lifesaver
- kids don't like losing
- they also have no patience
Someone told me that there’s a group of asian kids at their camp going around and giving other kids hard math problems, and then calling them stupid and dumb when they can’t solve it 😭 is this just a waterloo thing??
Thank you to everyone I’ve worked alongside each iteration of WaterLAN, and all the students and staff I’ve met through this event <3
I can’t wait to see everyone next year :3
From running the bracket, speaking to students, and seeing new and old faces - my heart feels so full 🫶
Thank you to @ZackDodge, @yBlazin, and Greg for being the WaterLAN day 1s. I still remember the initial pitch, and I never could have imagined where we’ve taken it from then.
