@nntaleb Also the pre-covid contract example is not helpful IMHO, because common law case law established a default rule that the loss lies where it falls: getting a refund bc of force majeure isn’t easy if not anticipated in writing

@nntaleb I disagree. Smart contracts limit the need for a third party enforcer but would still require an “oracle” for contingencies.
The real analogy is with liquidated damages, not with frustration of contract or force majeure. Blockchain does not do away with judges.

First principle of the Hippocratic oath is do no harm. But N.Taleb is not a doctor, yet recommends the vaccine in general based on stats?
