@spencerideas I would add the lack of context and background knowledge. The emphasis on isolated grammatical patterns within words that are unknown to ELs or any other student, make it a path to failing. I can’t make sense of a pattern in a word that I have no cognitive context for..
This is more creative than saying, “Ok, sit with a new group!” It's a great way for ppl to see themselves & feel considered in your planning. It's generationally & culturally inclusive.
