For four years, the Dolphins reflected the idea of the city they represent — star-driven, fast, expensive.
The 2026 Dolphins will look almost entirely different, but inside the building, they know this season is about laying the foundation for something bigger
More, on how Miami returned to “ground zero” this offseason:

Dolphins QB coach Bush Hamdan said Malik Willis is still developing as a full-time starter:
"We all want this to be a straight line of perfect development -- but there's gonna be ups and downs. I just keep going back to his athleticism; at times it's a superpower and at times, trying to make all those extra plays is something you've got to be aware of."
Dolphins OC Bobby Slowik:
"I don't think anybody thinks the pass game is where we want it to be ... I just don't think everybody on the field sees the game through the same lens."
Said it's his responsibility to make sure the entire offense is on the same page
asked Dolphins ST coordinator Chris Tabor whether he's ever spoken to his punter/kicker about making a business decision to avoid a situation like the Rams' last week:
"Absolutely not -- the business decision is to play football ... If a guy makes a business decision, I think the organization will make a business decision."
Second injury report of the week for Dolphins-Jets
Dolphins LB Willie Gay Jr. missed practice with an illness, while Jets RB Breece Hall was upgraded from DNP to limite participant
In the AFC East, you've got your MVP caliber quarterbacks, your conference contenders, your division winners.
Then, there's the other guys.
But the Jets and Dolphins have plans in motion to chase a division title that neither team has won since ‘08

Limited sessions for Caleb Douglas and Kyle Louis. Malik Willis received treatment for his right (throwing hand) thumb but was a full participant
Arizona State is currently expected to make a QB change and start Mikey Keene against Kansas State on Saturday, sources tell @CBSSports.
Cutter Boley has started ASU’s first six games. Keene, who previously played at UCF, Fresno St. and Michigan, has 8,533 career passing yards.
Hopefully the first of many @CameronWolfe appearances on NBA Today. Known for NFL, Cam is covering tonight's big Heat opener for ESPN in Miami.
And congrats to @malika_andrews who is tipping off another ESPN NBA season. Nice @SBJ profile of her this week: https://t.co/l7u6c8vbiH
Dolphins rookie Kyle Louis' 21-day practice window will open today,, per Hafley. His status for Sunday is up in the air, Hafley says they're happy to get him back for now and want to see where he's at physically this week
Hafley said the Dolphins felt like releasing Riley Patterson and bringing in Zane Gonzalez was what was best for the team
Added that it wasn't meant to be a message for the team, "just a specific switch"
WR AD Mitchell (finger) will return to practice today on a limited basis. RB Breece Hall (quad) won't practice today, but he will be evaluated as the week goes on, per Glenn. So it sounds like there's a chance. #Jets
In hindsight, this was a damning comment from Jeff Hafley yesterday when asked why they didn't attempt to kick it through the endzone on the Bengals' game-opening 81-yard kick return in Week 5
Dolphins allow a league-high 34.1 yards per kick return this season
The UIL approved a mandated 35-second shot clock for basketball starting in 2028-29 school year for 6A and 5A, with other classes to adopt it in following years. 6A and 5A schools would have the option to use it in the 2027-28 school year.

Dolphins WR Caleb Douglas (ankle) will be a limited participant in today's practice, with the hope of ramping up his involvement as the week progresses
