avoid the not-so-friendly flu and get your shot before Halloween! it’s required for 5C students again this fall. @MarcellaTTodd https://t.co/MxhgtLwge8
This week at @TSLnews, we had @marianaduranf and @MarcellaTTodd looking into the exhausted isolation spaces at CMC and Harvey Mudd, which led to infected students quarantining in place w/ their roommates. https://t.co/0DSpWK9ITU
Isolating in place, potential false positives, and delays in testing results are what some HMC and CMC students are dealing with due to the unprecedented amount of covid cases at the Claremont Colleges. Read more in an article me and @marianaduranf

Recently proposed changes to the 'Cal Grant' would increase funding for private college financial aid, but how much this would impact the 5Cs, who have said they meet demonstrated need, is up in the air. Reporting by @MarcellaTTodd & Amara Mir. https://t.co/nHEhsfZcWq
Developing: At least 190 people have tested positive across the Claremont Colleges since Monday, intensifying a surge in COVID-19 cases that began after students returned from spring break in late March. https://t.co/EPVSAXAMxq
another mind-boggling detail that just made it into our story: about one in fourteen CMC students is currently in COVID isolation https://t.co/AzMb4Gv8wU
just over 2k average cases a day — we easily clear 1% of CA’s positive tests and probably more like 2-3%. we test more than probably anywhere else, but still, that’s absolutely wild
California is averaging about 14,700 cases a week, and the 5Cs alone have about 150 cases in the last week. Which means the 5Cs are accounting for roughly 1 percent of all confirmed cases in California, despite being like 0.01 percent of California’s population. Wild.
@CMCnews elsewhere in today's paper: the news team takes a look at what's changed (and what hasn't) five years after TSL published the Wabash Report, exposing tensions on academic culture & growing diversity at @harveymudd: https://t.co/RZ7r6hh5if
new from me today: 306 @CMCnews admits got a special treat in their acceptance letters: a $10k/yr Podlich Scholarship for econ, gov & PPE.
some of them didn't even apply to those majors — the notification was a "computer code error," the school told me. https://t.co/ratqEVe0jq
Both Pomona College and Harvey Mudd College broke diversity records as they offered admission to students in the class of 2026 earlier this month.

"I just feel like it’s not supposed to hurt this much, you know? Like it shouldn’t be this painful to get through school, [one] that so clearly wants to teach us, that so clearly wants us to learn to succeed."
