I have said in the past that it is near impossible to truly play the market in MMA as if that fighter doesn't have enough leverage, then they'll all pass and the promotions all know after the fighter has nowhere left to go then they can be picked up far cheaper. The market isn't big enough.

What I think Ngannou should do is the De La Hoya/Mayweather route - promote his own fight. Boxing or MMA. Gamble on himself.
