In1973 the great man was 75, he probably said enough was enough as well? There could ever be one leader in that team when he was alive and it was him.......when he said stop... it stopped.....IOHO

@MarchF1 @LienhardRacing Yeah, but Forghieri seriously cheesed off that Enzo canned 512M. MF reckoned it was a match for 917 – and the Penske version showed well. Latter was probably better screwed together than the works cars. And Ferrari was out of sports cars by 1973 after being tonked by Matra

Finance always gets in the way which was possibly the reason why it was canned ....... some lead others to catch up and then some lead again was always thus.....

@LienhardRacing What a wonderful site.. where are they now? ....The Commendatore always prefered sports car racing anyway ..... it sold road cars ! What it would be to see Ferrari prototypes back in WEC full time if events and regulations allowed it....

We suspect Renault will just depart from the F1 scene as there is no real reason for them to be there. We just hope there is an operation ready to step in at Enstone to save the team and all its wonderful staff. Maybe we can call it the March F1 team.
