Have you ever wondered what is doing a mysterious flame-propelled construct on a cold and desolate world? Now you can finally get an answer! Grab your mouse and don't forget these 3 rules:
#gamedev#indiedev
I know I'm a bit late for the party, but happy new year everyone! I still feel like hoping for the best while preparing for the worst, but let's focus on the first part π
@LadyMistLeaf@PixelProphecy Oh, so I'm not alone. Well, the good part of all this waiting is that I have a lot of time to think and I usually end up having clear ideas when I actually get some time to write some code
@k_a_stark It happens. For example, I have a quite large collection of if(variable = null) situations π
Also, sometimes I start wondering if I've found a bug in a framework/engine/browser/language because my code is right but it's not working nonethel... oh wait.
I'll be quiet for a while, my job is demanding at this time and it will be so at least for the next couple of months. Meanwhile stay safe and stay strong, let's do our best to endure this hard time!
@theoneoflighta1 It is (or was?) an attempt to organize the various automated stuff I have scattered around in various projects. Just a joke on the silly name π
@GreyAlien@SimianE I can 100% relate, Gary. Anyway, game dev as an hobby has its pros, mostly about not being dependent financially on it. I feel more free and relaxed this way.
@dilvish_damned The timer is just showing when Magpie check for new data, if you click it it will tell you how old the data really is. Blizzard produces auction data more or less once an hour. Maybe try setting up some watch to get warned ASAP if something is at a good price.
@NathanGDQuest@fedetibaldo Very good news! I've also seen the 2d skeletal animation tools in godot, they look lovely. I'm definitely going to give it a go as I find the timeβ€οΈ
@Alex_theDev Making games is something I always loved, since when I was a kid playing D&D as a DM.
I've started getting into #gamedev in my early 30es, probably because I was starting to feel comfortable with my technical knowledge level, I had a stable job and a stable sentimental life.
@crazyoysterdevs I have a lot, would be impossible to list them all π
Some example I've played relatively recently:
- Immersion & narrative: Shadowrun: Hong Kong/Dragonfall, The Talos Principle
- Thoughtful strategy: Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup
- Frantic action: Risk of Rain 2
