Prediction: trade talks with America will fail come the 19th for one reason or another.

Carney will use the pain endured by Canadians as a result of Trump’s 50% tariffs to further fan the flames of Elbows Up as parliament returns late September.

As parliament proceeds to push their Digital ID law and other draconian bills the focus will be placed on Trump’s tariffs and how much of a bully he is despite all the “concessions” Carney offered.

This will go on just long enough for Carney to push through all his most vital legislation until Canadians can no longer tolerate the pain and only THEN will a trade deal be struck.

Why else would Carney be going on vacation for an entire week leading up to the single most important trade deal of his tenure?
