What we are working on is pretty big. People underestimated Amazon early on because they thought…how large is the used book market? But Bezos understood that he was building a global distribution system. Once he built it and got people to use it, he could plug anything into it! That’s exactly what he did. If he had told everyone early on that he would get into grocery delivery, cloud, space technology, drones, rockets and AI, they would have thought he was nuts. We are simply building a stealth zero trust networking architecture that solves the greatest problem on the internet. We can plug lots of things into this infrastructure once we get going.

In yesterday’s livestream, we officially welcomed Renata Spinks McNeal to the Enigma family as our newest advisor. This session brought together CEO Marcus Crockett, Chief Architect Harris Nussbaum, and Renata to discuss the next leg of our journey in reshaping privacy and cybersecurity. Let's get into it.

Advisory Board Spotlight: Renata Spinks-McNeal

Renata joins our advisory board with a distinguished career at the highest levels of government and military leadership, bringing a level of authority that is central to our mission.

Marine Corps Leadership: Drawing on her extensive background, Renata previously served as the Deputy CISO for the U.S. Marine Corps, leading command and control, computers, and cyber operations.

Federal Impact: Her expertise is rooted in her time at the U.S. Treasury and Homeland Security, where she managed digital forensics, identity, and privacy while supporting undercover operations.

Global Data Protection: Reflecting her deep technical competence, Renata shared how she created data exchange and protection models for international banking systems, including the Bank of England, during her time at the Treasury.

Enigma’s Approach: Root Cause Resolution

As Harris put it, the solution to cybersecurity can’t be putting "Band-Aids on bullet holes." Instead, Enigma is addressing the root causes of systemic vulnerability.

Resiliency Over Buzzwords: Renata emphasized that while "AI" and "Supply Chain" are often used as buzzwords, they represent critical landscapes that require resilient systems.

Problem-Solving for Executives: Leveraging her experience in the boardroom, Renata highlighted the importance of providing senior leaders with clear courses of action and observable results.

Cloaking: Renata pointed out the necessity of technology that can "cloak for movement," ensuring secure lateral and bilateral communication even in the most severe warfighting environments.

The Technical Front

We view cybersecurity as a constant battle, requiring the defender to never let the guard down as one single successful breach can already lead to data loss. Therefore our highest priority is to ensure our architecture is designed to define and dominate this battlefield.

Gateway Edge Security: By starting at the network layer with the EPN, we bring security directly to the edge of the computer.

Exfiltration Defense: If a threat enters via social engineering or physical hardware, our gateway control plane is designed to recognize and block the exfiltration of data.

The "AI Kill Switch": We are developing functionality informed by the need for executive level control that creates a virtual airlock around agentic AI systems to isolate threats by simply turning off the power.
