4B start their Art Day with Mr Keating (artist in residence). They learnt about the artist Rachel Whiteread and how she uses the process 'casting ' to create pieces of art. The children then used this technique to create their own moulds.

This morning, I worked in the @MarlboroughPrim resource base with the #ShootingStars kids making fruit based sun catchers for their 'Let's Grow' topic. They used tissue paper & cellophane and cut, tore and scrunched to make their colourful collages!
#shootingstars#artistinresidence What a wonderful morning with Mr Keating. He has worked with us to create sun catchers using tissue paper and cellophane. The pictures are based on our favourite fruits and vegetables as our topic this half term is 'let's grow' @MarcusKeating
Today, I've been working with Reception @MarlboroughPrim to create sun catchers based on fruit for their upcoming Handa's Suprise learning next month. The kids cut, scrunched, tore, glued and arranged tissue paper and cellophane to create their fruit collages.

Second week making Explorer Vessels out of recycled bits and bobs with 2Y today @wyndclf . Soo many fine motor and imagination/ design skills engaged!!
This week, I've worked with Year 2, making Explorer Vessels. They designed and drew pictures in pairs before drawing them big and cutting using saws and then creating the details from junk modelling. @MarlboroughPrim
In The Hive (our resource based hub for kids with additional needs). We made plaster handprints by pressing our palms into soft salt dough and then pouring with plaster of paris. We then used a spray based acrylic to colour them. Soo messy and so much fun!
I repeated the fabric banner lesson with the year 3's because I focused more heavily on learning about the city they were focusing during Topic lessons. They make such an impact!
