I’ve put together a summary of my argument for when people start coming out with the “I’m not voting for Starmer “ Schtick.
Hopefully it cuts out pro-longed painful back and forwards and they can just get straight to blocking me 😁
@RichardBurgon Very slack Dickie. You should be turning your massive intellect on separating the peaceful protestors from the people in these protests just there to inflame things.
Unless you think lighting up Ben with dubious slogans acceptable.
So come on. Let’s hear your thought.
@jeremycorbyn All these projects looking for money should have 5 up fronts.
1 Who are we
2 Our clear objectives
3 P&L or forecast
4 What we have achieved
This one has been going for nigh on 13 years so how’s about it ?
But this needs an intelligent approach from police on the ground.(Good luck !) and the government to be a damn sight more pro-active.
Free speech is great. Lighting up Big Ben with dodgy hate driven spew not so much.
The reality about the destruction of democracy in the UK by murderous Islamists may be a bit skewed.
The perfectly legitimate protests to stop the war have been hi-hacked as I see it by the usual mob of Ant-West , anti-Jew, Anti-Starmer (!), whack jobs.
There are a large number people in YouTube comments who wish they were famous just so they could go on the Graham Norton Show. 😯
And I can see why. Everyone seems to be having a great time. Celebs are hyper relaxed and very entertaining and Graham is whip smart.
Brilliant
@jeremycorbyn Err hello. Everyone outside Labour threw a hissy fit !
What bit didn’t you like ?
A unified Labour
Labour winning an amendment calling for an immediate ceasefire.
Labour reminded people about the hostages.
Your cadre having nothing to attack Labour on .
@westminstermews Ah poor Pete though !
Every time they came to the supposed denouement in their death of Emma movie she’d spoil it by kicking the stuffing out of him.
We might get a clear sight of the real state of democracy in UK today when the Speaker gets his meeting with Party leaders.
Hoyle is a decent guy and I hope he gets their backing against the game playing inadequates trying to hurt him.
@Peterhardwick17 Health not so great Pete. Sticking in there but you can almost hear the biological time bomb ticking.
Goes from day to day. Yesterday could hardly put a thought together and today reading a great little book called Lonesome Dove.
@atticrahman@Keir_Starmer No. What’s happening is Starmer is giving his political opponents a hiding on all the in games these time wasters love.
At the same time he’s delivering a Labour vision to the country that they buy into.
Well balanced dumping of trivia and getting on with the good stuff.
Can’t really focus enough on the amendment blather yesterday with the old brain fog.
But, if I was to try a simple summary it appears that Starmer has outfoxed his opponents internally and externally yet again and left them writhing in their cess pits of hate and inadequacy.
I have served under three speakers. Lindsay Hoyle is head and shoulders above the rest. He is fair, kind and a protector of back benchers. He is not a bully nor a grandstander nor pompous. He has my full support.
So very sad to hear of Ewen MacIntosh’s passing. A lovely, uniquely funny man who played Keith in The Office. So hilarious when we asked him to improv a voicemail message that we wrote more dialogue for him, and he stole every scene he was in. A total one-off. A tragic loss. RIP
@ATRightMovies Worst effect in the whole move. But then everyone seems to struggle with the idea unless you get into effects laden effects like Flash speeds.
So. Got a hospital bed installed at home and the main reaction seems to be “oh he’s near the end.”
Which may be true but I wish I’d got it sooner because it’s so much more convenient when you start developing mobility issues.
