During her PhD she would also like to take a more archaeological approach to the inscribed funerary monuments. She is therefore grateful for the opportunity to learn more about mortuary archaeology from the members of the MARE project.
Along with our regular MARE members, we also have a number of other PhDs who join our meetings who are also interested in aspects of mortuary archaeology and in particular the tomb monuments. One of these PhDs is Janis Oomen. Here's a quick thread:
Her project is part of the national Anchoring Innovation project. Funerary inscriptions have always featured prominently in her BA and MA research – most often as a source used to write social history.
