@C_NyaKundiH Taking young vulnerable refugees from camps to suffer in towns in the name of fake tertiary education. The kshs 21,000 supposed to be received monthly isn't enough but students are perseverance. To add salt into wound, they delay it. @WindleKenya, @UNHumanRights
Scholars Under DaFi Scholarship Demand Immediate Release of Overdue Allowances
Scholars under the DAFI Tertiary Scholarship Programme, funded by UNHCR and implemented by Windle International Kenya (WIK) have reached out to report that they have been experiencing prolonged delays in receiving their upkeep allowances.
It has been six months since the last disbursement, which the scholars rely on for rent and food.
Both WIK and UNHCR have failed to fulfill their commitment to disburse funds on time.
The quarterly allowances, due for the January-to-March period, were expected on January 15th, yet scholars have not received them.
As a result, they are encountering disputes with their landlords and struggling to manage daily expenses, which in turn is affecting their ability to attend classes.
Scholars are now calling for urgent action to address this delay and for prompt disbursement of the pending allowances.
"Hello Cyprian Nyakundi. Thank you for the great work you are doing.
Could you kindly share this on your timeline?
Scholars under the DaFi Scholarship, funded by UNHCR and implemented by Windle International Kenya, are suffering.
It has now been six months since scholars last received their upkeep allowances, which they rely on for rent and food.
Both WIK and UNHCR have consistently failed to honor their promises of timely allowance disbursement.
The allowances are divided into four quarters, with each quarter covering three months. The January-to-March allowance was supposed to be disbursed on January 15th. However, scholars have yet to receive the funds.
This delay has caused conflicts between them and their landlords. Attending classes has also become increasingly difficult, as scholars struggle to meet their daily expenses.
Please help amplify this message."

The vulnerable refugees under the so DAFI Scholarship have been suffering on the hands @WindleKenya and @Refugees. With delay in quarterly allowances which is not even sustainable to students, students are starving, locked of their rooms. 5 months no money ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
@lahatmariel The vulnerable brilliant scholars have been suffering silently for all these years.
Enough is enough. I want to call upon all the major donars German government and stakeholders to take away the implementation of this scholarship from Windle international kenya and UNHCR.
