Last night @EthelGardinerPS hosted our 3rd annual Math evening for our families. The theme for this year’s event was that Math is Everywhere. These are the war cry of @Kculhane211, who leads this initiative with great passion
So many amazing examples of what structured reading and writing explicit instruction can look like for learners in different divisions. So grateful for our amazing LRT for all the resources and leadership she helped us with! @HDSBLiteracy
About to start a great PA day with the staff @EthelGardinerPS by reflecting on our great work and areas for improvement when it comes to our @HaltonDSB Multi-Year Strategic Plan, Inclusive Design, and Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy.
@realJ_Mitchell This clip isn't enough. The entire 15-minute homily was PHENOMENAL. She is such a great example of what it means to use your privilege. She held them captive, publicly, under the banner of the faith they say they believe in. https://t.co/e3W87NAC4k
Also, this kid doesn’t much like reading fiction (and when he does, he generally reads graphic novels, or his favourite Star Wars books) but he does love A Wolf Called Wander.
Very proud of P for the progress he has made in his reading. Still working on his fluency but he is able to read at grade level now and continues to want to read (pretty important for a child with a learning disability affecting reading).
So many parts of my role as school leader can be challenging, but days like yesterday are a gift, a reminder of the power and joy that our schools bring. Thank you to all the families (and our trustee, Jeanne Gray!) for coming to celebrate the arts in action. /12
The @HaltonDSB MYSP is at the centre of this work. Students were engaged in their learning, the sense of community and connection at the heart of it all, providing safe environments for students to share their work and their creativity. /11
