Our CEO and Vice Chairman of the ICC Global Digital Economy Commission, @stonybaiden delivered a keynote address at the International Chamber of Commerce Ghana CEO Breakfast Meeting, where he called on African businesses and leaders to move from being consumers of technology to builders of the systems that will shape the continent’s future.
 
Speaking on the theme, “Networking for Growth within a 24-Hour Economy,” he noted that as artificial intelligence continues to transform industries, Africa must take greater ownership of its digital future. A sustainable 24-hour economy requires more than adopting technologies developed elsewhere. It requires strong digital infrastructure, trusted data and the capacity to develop solutions that meet Africa’s needs.

A successful digital identity system isn’t defined by technology alone; it is strengthened by the people behind it.

Following the successful inauguration of The Gambia’s National Identity Management System (NIMS), Margins ID Group conducted a comprehensive capacity-building programme for officials and technical teams who will support the implementation and day-to-day operation of the system.

Beyond technical and operational training, the programme placed strong emphasis on compliance, data protection, and ethical standards ensuring participants are equipped not only with the skills to manage the system effectively, but also with the knowledge and responsibility required to uphold the integrity, security, and trust that underpin a national identity ecosystem.

Through practical demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and guided learning, participants gained the expertise needed to deliver secure, reliable, and citizen-centred identity services.
