After a busy year deployed, @HMSPortland is back and as busy as ever. Starting off the year with promotions from ET2 to ET1 for the ME’s onboard.

To raise money for our Welfare Fund, #HMSPortland held a pizza deliveroo night hosted by the Wardroom. This saw Officers of the Wardroom prep, cook and deliver pizza and sides to each Mess for a donation that will benefit the Ship’s Company 🍕#RoyalNavy

And last but certainly not least, #HMSPortland Sailor of the Year award was presented to ETME Merson. A selfless and highly driven individual, he goes above and beyond daily which extends in to his home life, where he plays an active role assisting with his local cadet unit.

#HMSPortland Sailor of the Term was awarded to the Logistics Department’s POCS Brown. Showing unwavering commitment to both the Galley and the Ship’s CBRNDC organisation, POCS Brown embodies the wholeship ethos and is a role model to those around her.

#HMSPortland held a Clear Lower Deck at sea to celebrate their sailors over the deployment. First was the Ships Office who were awarded the Herbert Lott Efficiency award for their efforts in dealing with lots of short notice compassionate travel professionally and efficiently.

Today #HMSPortland played Bergen Expats whilst alongside in Norway 🇳🇴 The final score was 5-0 to Bergen Expats although we did loan them some of our best players to make up the numbers which may have helped 👀 A great game which was throughly enjoyed by all 🏉 #RoyalNavy

Another day at sea means training for every eventuality. Yesterday we ran out the scenario of a fire in the Upper AMR with 4 casualties. A sterling effort from the Ship’s Company meant the fire was extinguished and the casualties received life saving medical care 🧯⛑️ #RoyalNavy
