Just like cryptocurrencies, without fiat currency as a unified standard or medium, cryptocurrencies wouldn't have developed to their current state. However, cryptocurrencies are indeed decentralized, so in the future, they will coexist with fiat currency rather than replace it. Many people believe they will replace it, which is something I don't understand.
