Today’s Caritas awards ceremony in the sunshine where some of our amazing @StKentAc 23/24 cohort were in attendance to pick up their awards. Proud staff and school community 😊@SCESDirector#StKentsWay#caritas#service

🏊♂️The UK Govt made funding available to the Scottish Govt to help support our swimming pools and keep them open.
❌Yet the SNP kept it to themselves and now pools across Scotland like Bucksburn are closing. They must do the right thing and pass on that funding to councils now.
Reaction to West Lothian Pool Closures
Scottish Swimming is deeply shocked and disappointed by West Lothian Council’s decision yesterday to proceed with the closure of three West Lothian swimming pools on 31stAugust this year, despite protests from the local communities.
I found that the best part about Caritas was connecting with the people around me, learning more about them and myself in the process. I would definitely recommend participating in this award with your best foot forward.
"Having the opportunity to be a Caritas student was a blessing in so many ways. The Caritas Award opened a variety of opportunities for us to unite as a school and give back to the community. There's no better sense of joy than to do the best you can for someone else.
Congratulations to our S6 students on a beautiful Leavers Mass!

LA Secretary Heather Hughes addressing West Lothian’s teachers!
“Pay us a fair wage”, she says.
West Lothian’s teachers have vacated their classrooms today, not because they want to…because they have to!
An amazing turnout to the West Lothian rally this morning. If this doesn’t make @COSLA and @scotgov#PayAttention then…we’ll be forced to vacate our classrooms again!
The FM says in her @BBClauraK interview that since 2018, teachers have had more than 20% increase in their salary.
Wrong.
Since 2018, teachers received a 13% uplift (2018-21), and a 2.2% uplift in 2021-22. No uplift has been paid in 2022-23.
