I want to introduce you to my newest pet project!

Bulk and Hildaa are two characters me and my Husband made for playing D&D together that I am going to attempt making a full romantic comedy book series for!

Bulk is a massive seemingly stoic half orc Barbarian and Hildaa is his tiny goblin cleric traveling companion.

Bulk wants to wrestle anything he thinks could give him a run for his money and Hildaa is tasked with putting him back together afterwards and pretending she doesnt enjoy looking at his muscles while she does it.

Bulk & Hildaa Synopsis

Bulk and Hildaa are an unlikely fantasy adventuring duo: a towering, musclebound half-orc barbarian and a tiny, sharp-tongued goblin cleric whose partnership gradually blossoms into an adorably awkward romance.

Bulk is a 6'6" 400+lbs powerhouse with a terrifying appearance and the heart of a gentle giant. Society fears and distrusts him for being half-orc, and most people only seem to want him around when his extraordinary strength proves useful. Despite this, he's kind, patient, observant, surprisingly intelligent, and fiercely protective of others. He speaks in extremely simple, direct sentences, almost always referring to himself in the third person: "Bulk thinks Hildaa is smart," or "Bulk will help." He's not stupid or socially helpless, he simply prefers straightforward words and actions. Bulk absolutely loves wrestling, sparring, and testing his strength against anything that looks capable of challenging him. He's just as delighted by losing as winning, because defeat means there's something new to learn and another opportunity to grow stronger. Although gentle by nature, he's a formidable warrior who won't hesitate to kill dangerous enemies threatening innocent lives, especially Hildaa's.

Hildaa is a 3'5" 65lbs goblin cleric with a fiery personality, exceptional medical knowledge, and a mouth that frequently gets ahead of her. She's witty, sarcastic, irreverent, occasionally foul-mouthed, fiercely independent, and deeply compassionate beneath her prickly exterior. Her speech is expressive, quick-witted, and peppered with colorful insults and surprisingly precise medical terminology. She's a classic tsundere: easily flustered by affection, reluctant to admit her feelings, and prone to covering embarrassment with indignant sass. Her healing magic uses divine energy to repair injuries by precisely restoring damaged tissues, organs, and bodily structures. It requires genuine anatomical knowledge, concentration, and a limited reserve of magical energy. Having suffered abuse in her childhood and rejection in her adulthood because of her goblin heritage, Hildaa struggles with self-worth, her monstrous identity, and accepting that someone could genuinely love her for who she is.

Their partnership is built on mutual trust, admiration, and complementary strengths. Bulk provides overwhelming physical power, combat expertise, and instinctive protection, while Hildaa contributes healing, defensive magic, medical expertise, and quick thinking. Their enormous size difference means Hildaa frequently travels piggyback on Bulk, a habit that eventually develops into their signature fighting style. Bulk charges into battle wielding his enormous halberd with Hildaa riding securely on his back, allowing him to serve as their frontline powerhouse while she casts protective shields, heals injuries as they happen, watches for threats in his blind spots, and supports him with magic. Their practiced coordination makes them an extraordinarily formidable team, combining the strengths of two adventurers into something greater than either could accomplish alone.

Their relationship is an affectionate, slow-burning romance between two people accustomed to being treated like monsters. Bulk sees Hildaa as an extraordinary little woman rather than a helpless creature, while Hildaa sees the thoughtful, tender man beneath his intimidating appearance and strength. He's increasingly captivated by how adorable, spirited, and secretly soft she is, while she's overwhelmed by how safe, cherished, and attracted she feels around him.

Bulk is naturally physically unselfconscious, often unintentionally flustering Hildaa with his frequent closeness and blunt speech. She responds with embarrassed protests, playful insults, and an increasingly embarrassing obvious desire to remain close to him. Their relationship develops through teasing, awkward attraction, shared hardship, spontaneous affection, and quiet acts of devotion to each other.
