@NDNlawyer Tribal citizenship should not be the only form of belonging. & most of us Texas Ndns don’t feel the need to be federally recognized, which just blows the mind of many of those federally recognized. They believe we cannot exist as legit Ndns w/o belonging to a recognized tribe.
@NDNlawyer Texas is a unique state in this regard. We have many many native people, & no Texas specific “federally recognized” tribes. The 3 reservations in Tx are not Tx Indians. Yet this used to Be mostly Indian country (& Mexico).
