@bphillipsonMP today announced exciting teacher recruitment figures.
There are 4,654 more teachers in schools/colleges than in 2024, thats 70% of the Gov target.
The data also shows one of the lowest teacher exit rates on record, and a 13% rise in entrants to teacher training.

I’ve received confirmation from the Government that new solar panels have been installed at Sutton Academy through Great British Energy’s solar scheme.
The school will save around £1 million over the lifetime of the panels, money that can go back into the school's facilities.
🚨 The Government's consultation on zero-hour and short-hour contracts is now open.
What happens next will determine whether the rights in the Employment Rights Act deliver on Labour’s promise at the general election. 1/4

I have joined Afzal Khan MP and Parliamentary colleagues in writing to the Equality and Human Rights Commission to call for a formal investigation into Islamophobia within Reform UK.

When we dismiss hatred by denying or minimising it, whether that be Islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia or other forms of prejudice, we risk allowing it to grow at a time when mosques, synagogues and LGBTQ+ safe spaces are being regularly targeted for attack.

• A real terms freeze on pub bills for the following two years.
• New permanently lower multipliers for eligible retail, hospitality and leisure properties.
• A high value multiplier on the top 1% of most expensive properties.

Earlier this year, I wrote to Government on behalf of local pubs on business rates. Pubs have been under pressure in recent years, and they must recieve support from Westminister.
The response I recieved from the Treasury confirms the rollout of a support package.
[1/3]
Measures include:
• A support package of £4.3 billion to protect ratepayers against large overnight bill hikes.
• Cap on bill increases at 15% or less in 26/27 for most properties.
• A 1 year 15% relief for all pubs and live music venues in 26/27.

There is still much more to do, but I welcome these steps to improve care, cut waiting times and ensure women are listened to and treated with the seriousness they deserve.

Recently, I wrote to the Government on behalf of constituents living with endometriosis. Too many women face long delays to diagnosis, have their pain dismissed, and struggle to access the care they need.
[1/4]
Measures include:
• Faster diagnosis and new care pathways for endometriosis
• New guidance to improve referrals/treatment through the NHS and GPs
• Additional investment in menstrual health education
• Approval of new treatment options for severe endometriosis
