We have received credible information that Athorbey Al-Gaddhaffy-Dit (Gaddafi Athorbey), abducted in Nairobi on 10 June 2026, was unlawfully deported to South Sudan and is currently being held at a military detention facility in Juba.
We demand:
• Guarantees of his safety, physical integrity, and access to medical care;
• Immediate and unhindered access to his family and legal representatives;
• A prompt, independent, and transparent investigation by Kenyan authorities into his abduction;
• Accountability for all individuals and entities responsible, regardless of rank or affiliation.

STATEMENT: Amnesty International Kenya is gravely concerned by the reported abduction of Kenyan citizen Athorbey Al-Gaddhaffy-Dit in Nairobi around 3:00am today.
Credible reports suggest he may be held at JKIA and at risk of unlawful deportation. We demand his immediate whereabouts, safety, access to family & lawyers, and a prompt investigation.
If suspected of an offence, he must be produced before a court of law. Every hour matters. Read more: https://t.co/Eq6DjpNHPJ

Three protesters shot dead in Nanyuki. Students shot inside their own hostel at Multimedia University.
Hooded, unidentifiable officers firing live rounds on unarmed Kenyans.
This is not law enforcement. This is the constitution being violated in broad daylight.
As we approach the 2nd anniversary of June 25, we must refuse to normalise what we are witnessing.
Accountability is not optional. It is what justice looks like in practice.
Here is my statement on the current pattern of violence by the Police:
This is exactly what Nairobi has become, lots of resources are available for talking, panels, content and eating sausages in hotels, but nobody is really producing...
Kenya s no longer productive! We are just talkative!
If you earn 50k a month, it will take you 5,000 months of working without spending to have saved up to 250 million. That is 417 years of working to have money that a mere CEC of a County Government has lying around in his bedroom. We are killing the future of Kenya

The issuance of a Kenyan identity card to a foreigner who vows that never requested it shines a spotlight on the rot in the office that bestowed this important responsibility. Bosnian national Zlatko Gegic told the High Court that he was given a Kenyan ID card after he requested a residence permit.

My heart bleeds for Kenyans because we really think we are the exception to Iran , DRC , Sudan , Afghanistan, Nigeria. The pattern is visible and no one is the exception to bad leadership , greed and corruption.
