Hellish indeed. As an international lawyer, I can't sleep at night. How do the perpetrators, the accomplices, the supporters and beneficiaries?
#PalestineGenocide
Glad this post was published. I am happy I was eventually able to share my work in Germany, despite the pressure, intimidation, and mafia-style tactics surrounding my visit. The scale and speed of repression of fundamental freedoms (surrounding Palestine), alongside the resurgence of unchecked racism, are truly alarming. And more despicable than censorship, is the widespread self-censorship.

I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation & gratitude to Ireland, and invite others to do so, for its principled leadership (so much needed in the Global North!), on the challenging yet essential journey toward justice.
The ICC’s historic arrest warrants against leaders of a ‘Western democracy’ - in the words of western media - is a TWAIL moment: impunity of the West for its grave crimes is ending. https://t.co/DAZ4ablqJh
This compilation of sources on the legality of Israel's actions in Gaza should be retweeted far and wide, not least following the excruciating Human Rights Watch report published this week (HRW Reports were the most probative evidence in asylum proceedings I took in the US).
The countdown is on! We wish to remind our readers that there is just less than one month left to submit an abstract for the Strasbourg Observers 15th Anniversary Symposium! (Deadline: December 2nd)

In today’s insightful post on Dian v. Denmark, @SarahGanty criticises the @ECHR_CEDH for failing to protect poor people’s rights by finding the case inadmissible, as the applicant was not vulnerable enough and was not part of the ‘deserving poor’ 👇 https://t.co/TUORI926yy
One of the bravest public figures, @FranceskAlbs, lawyer and fighter for justice, published her new report on crimes committed in Gaza and the West Bank, in which she offers a novel application of the totality of conduct doctrine in international law https://t.co/B2E40IqV6M
The human rights framework has championed peace and justice in some regions while ignoring – and sustaining – grave rights violations in others. Can the framework survive its own inconsistency?

Yet another extremely interesting and valuable workshop - a trusted and unique space to learn from specialists and develop research in progress on economic, social and cultural rights. thanks @AmandaCahillRip and @LivUniLawSJ for hosting!
Today I'm @UN calling on governments to end their dangerous fixation with GDP as the answer to global #poverty.

In this new blog for @opiniojuris, @MarionSandner and I argue that solidarity (and the corresponding individual responsibilities) are preconditions for the realisation of economic and social rights #ESCR https://t.co/OqH2EsvQUV
A tree's "pursuit of growth is bounded by a greater goal of distributing and circulating the resources that nurture and sustain the health of its whole being." Can't our economies function the same way?
📘So grateful to @KateRaworth for writing a foreword for my book, The Poverty of Growth - an extract of which has been published in @guardian.
"When we turn away from growth as the goal, we can focus directly on asking what it would take to deliver social & ecological wellbeing"
