Defender @Hassanmood31 has agreed to a one year contract extension with the Kasasiro Boys up to the end of the season.

Muhamood who had earned interest from several clubs from Uganda and Tanzania decided to stay for atleast another year at Lugogo owing to a good relationship with now head coach @Brian_Ssenyond0.

His previous contract ran out last season, playing 21 times

25-year-old defender 𝙅𝙖𝙘𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙗𝙖 joins St. Mary's Stadium Kitende on a two year contract, joining from DRC club AS Simba.

Mangoba can also play as a right back, though predominantly he is a centre back.

UPL champions @VipersSC have appointed French tactician Denis Lavagne as the club’s new Head Coach on a two-year contract.

The 61-year-old succeeds Belgian Ivan Jacky Minnaert, who departed the club by mutual consent at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Sharif will sign a two year contract, joining on a free transfer as he links up again with former coach Abdallah Mubiru to be part of his exciting project at Bugonga.

Sharif leaves Lugogo after the club terminated his three year contract with a year still to run on his deal, as he was deemed unwanted by coach Brian Ssenyondo.

The young midfielder will seek to restart his career after getting few opportunities to impress especially during the previous season.

There were four draws on a single day in a #FIFAWorldCup tournament for the first time in 68 years.

The last time there four draws in a single day of a World Cup was also on June 15, back in 1958.

Three reds were shown in the #FIFAWorldCup2026 opener on as Mexico beat South Africa 2-0.

South Africa's Yaya Sithole and Themba Zwane were sent off, and then Mexico's Cesar Montes was dismissed in stoppage time.

The World Cups in Russia and Qatar both saw just four red cards in the whole tournament.

It had been 20 years since three players were sent off in one match, in the 2006 finals when 28 players saw red.

The 2006 tournament also saw three players dismissed in three separate games, and the all-time record of four reds in Portugal v Netherlands.

Former Uganda Cranes midfielder Michael Azira has taken on a new chapter in his football journey, being appointed head coach of the women’s soccer team at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in the United States.

Azira steps into the role after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Mobile, where he built valuable experience in collegiate football.

His new team competes in the NJCAA Division, playing in the South Division of the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference.

A naturalised U.S. citizen since October 2021, Azira’s playing career in America spanned nine clubs, highlighted by winning the USL Pro Championship with the Charleston Battery in 2012.

Even before fully transitioning into coaching, he was already shaping young talent, guiding UMS-Wright to a state title in 2011 while still an active player.

JUST IN: The two @UgandaCranes friendly matches against Tanzania and Madagascar that were scheduled to be played in Morocco have been cancelled due to sanitary and public health considerations expected to be due to the recent outbreak of Ebola in DR Congo and Uganda.

The Cranes had already travelled to Morocco and had started preparations for the games that were to be played on Friday and Monday.
