This Commando (1985) scene is hilarious
Why doesn’t Arnie just open the phone box door?
Why is Michael Jackson sprinting out of the bar?
Why do the guards keep running into Arnie’s fists, and why does an entire army of them work there?
God, I love this film.
😭 Absolute classic sketch from Harry Enfield & Paul Whitehouse’s BAFTA-winning BBC series.
Harry and Paul do a brilliant parody of BBC Question Time: the clichéd audience questions, the sweaty nervous bloke in the jumper, the host’s withering put-downs, panelists waffling absolute nonsense… and all the timeless British political b*llocks in one perfect sketch. 😂
Still painfully accurate years later.
Leaving The Jam behind gave Paul Weller the chance to explore a very different musical direction. Released in 1983 as The Style Council’s debut single, “Speak Like a Child” blended soul, jazz and sophisticated pop influences, signalling the start of a new chapter that moved far beyond Weller’s mod revival roots.
Before Britpop had a name, The Charlatans were already helping shape the sound of a new generation of British guitar bands. Released in 1990 from Some Friendly, “Then” combined Hammond organ, baggy rhythms and indie rock influences, becoming one of the songs most closely associated with the Madchester era.
It's 31 years ago to the day that this was broadcast - for my money one of the most joyous bits of TV ever committed to celluloid.
It is, of course, Mr Sting's appearence on The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer.

🚨 José Mourinho on comparisons between Pep Guardiola and Sir Alex Ferguson after Manchester City’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea:
“No, no, no… that is not even close.”
“Yes, Pep Guardiola is a great coach. What he has done with Manchester City is fantastic, the football is beautiful and the trophies are there.”
“But Sir Alex Ferguson? Come on. You speak like people who did not watch football.”
“Sir Alex built different generations of winning teams over more than 20 years. Different players, different eras, different rivals and still he continued winning.”
“He did not always have the biggest spending power, but Manchester United remained at the top because of his mentality and leadership.”
“What Sir Alex did was not just coaching tactics, it was building a football empire.”
“Pep has coached incredible teams with incredible structures, but Sir Alex rebuilt Manchester United again and again while the whole league kept changing around him.”
“One dominated with perfection. The other dominated through generations.”
“For me, Sir Alex Ferguson is still untouchable.”
