@IngrahamAngle She has a condescending mindset. Do these two have no accomplishments to promote other than that they supposedly have qualities such as "maturity". If I had been President for 8 years and could not think of something more substantial to stay, I would be kind of bummed out.
@lakeview487 That's a good idea. It helps the original team a bit, but other teams can still overplay plenty on a 5-year deal. The owner's initial salary cap probably is on the low side, but if the players negotiate well, they can probably get an arrangement that is sensible for all.
@ByDrewStevens And who would you have used the 56 pick on? Lakers got it from the Bulls but ended up trading it to the Mavericks for cash. The Mavericks took Ishchenko. "The chances of Ishchenko ever stepping on an NBA court in a Mavericks jersey are very low."
@MSuareo It would be wonderful if the White Sox did something different and tried to stick to the original game plan for 2026. That would not preclude them from being a playoff team. In short, take a short-term risk using players with big upside potential.
@bananaguymike81@creamsleeve Ayo also was the 38th pick in the draft. We happened to trade the 38th pick this year for a player who was the 38th pick last year plus getting some extra considerations. It's not like we completely walked away from using the 38th pick.
@haas331603@creamsleeve Indeed. Maybe a guy in the first 10 picks of the 2nd round would be worthwhile, but it is time to be realistic after that. Even a guy in the top 10 is most likely to be a role player at best. A team only needs so many bodies in a given year.
@creamsleeve Strictly speaking, they only traded one 2nd round pick for cash, and the two undrafted free agents they picked up probably have as much promise as anyone they would have taken. There are only so many bodies a team needs each year.
@JamesFox917 The White Sox and Rays are the two likeliest teams to get him. The Twins and the Giants may both realize that the chances of him falling to them are so low that their time was better spent elsewhere in theory, but the Giants so like him that they decided to spend the time anyhow.
@ChiSoxFanMike He may need to find a happy medium. He probably thought he had it, but it can be tough to tell. In addition, pitchers evolve their pitching strategies against him. It certainly is something that he and the coaches should be reviewing. He has only played in 199 games.
Why do they make the pick selection so slow in the 2nd round of the NBA draft or for any draft after the 1st round? Come on. Get teams to figure out who they are going to draft quickly.
@ElijahEv8 My understanding is that his fastball velocity is up 2 mph. Could be that a weakening arm was holding his velocity back before. That guy could be very good. Might even bring him up to temporarily pitch him in relief and then let him compete on being a starter in 2027.
@thesunnyv By definition, he starts the year as a backup small forward or maybe backup shooting guard. Guessing the realistic alternatives also would have started the year as backup players.
Every parish has four jobs:
1. Help people meet friends
2. Help people meet Jesus
3. Teach people the faith
4. Teach people to evangelize
Some do 1 and 2, many do 3, almost none do 4
@ChiSoxFanMike In 2024, the White Sox were able to get their 41st win on September 29th. This year, the White Sox got to 41 wins 98 days earlier in the season.
@lakeview487 Sometimes it can pay off jumping a guy from AA to the majors. Of course, the White Sox might trade for a good veteran reliever or two in July at the expense of giving up good guys such as Pierce George. If we stay internal, we should get aggressive in taking a chance on someone.
