@Feargal_Sharkey what do you think of the fact that yesterday Ministers confirmed the appointment of Dame Helen Ghosh as Chair of the Office for Environmental Protection? Until 2010 she was Permanent Secretary at Defra. In 2016 @herdyshepherd1 accused her of “Mafia” tactics🤷♂️
@MichaelLCrick Apart from the late night specialist shows (eg The President’s Path) it’s become very superficial. Not to mention the ads for iPlayer shows repeated ad nauseam every 15 minutes for literally months on end - Gillian Anderson, Philip Pullman, The Real Strictly🤷♂️😩
@FarmersGuide Independence? No problem for this former Cabinet Office civil servant and Defra and Home Office Permanent Secretary. She was “headhunted” by Defra and the application deadline was extended. Salary - £56k a year for “up to two days a week”. MPs say, “it’s all fine”.
In her evidence to Parliament on Tuesday @herdyshepherd1, Dame Helen Ghosh, hoping to secure a new job as Chair of the Office for Environmental Protection (£56k a year for two days a week) said (not on oath!) you've changed your position on your 2016 disagreement. Is that true?
@DailyMail And within 24 hours the EFRA and Environmental Audit Committees rubber-stamped it! Apparently Defra invited her to apply and the deadline was extended. One wonders what other candidates thought of that? “Defra appoints former Defra Perm Sec to plum job.”
@FDAGenSec I guess you find it shocking that #Robbins was sacked but Ghosh got off scot-free. But wait, wasn’t she one of your members too when she was HO Perm Sec? Will she rejoin when she becomes Chair of the Office for Protection of the Environment at £56k for 2 days a week?
@PippaCrerar Now Ghosh to be appointed Chair of Office for Protection of the Environment, £56k a year for two days a week, unless Efracom stops her. Someone make it make sense.
@PippaCrerar Ghosh - withholds research on race discrimination from O’Donnell, Kerslake and Maude, leading to discrimination against 100,000 low paid civil servants, and financial loss: no consequences.
Robins - withholds information because he thinks he must - sacked.
