LDS Church Launches K–12 Private School Pilot in Meetinghouses Sitting Empty During the Week
Full article: 👇
SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced a new K12 private school pilot that will operate inside existing meetinghouses during the week.
The idea reportedly gained traction after a member pointed out that thousands of meetinghouses sit mostly empty Monday through Friday, prompting one administrator to note that “the buildings are white already to harvest.”
Under the pilot, some school responsibilities will be handled through traditional staffing, while others may be assigned in ways members are already familiar with. Parents are reportedly bracing for phrases like, “The Lord has called you to teach seventh-grade math.”
Early lunch menus are expected to feature Hawaiian haystacks, Lion House rolls, and funeral potatoes.
Church officials said the biggest adjustment will be learning that the bishop’s office is now the principal’s office Monday through Friday, and that being sent there somehow feels much worse.
Michael Jordan says losing is not the opposite of winning, it is just another part of winning
“I hate losing. It’s not even a question. But I have to respect losing…”
“Because losing is a part of winning. You never just win. You’ve got to lose to win.”
“Losing is going to hurt… To a point where you look at… How can I do things different? How can I change? How can I make this team better?”
“Before you can look at someone else… You’ve got to look at yourself in the mirror. That’s how things get started. You’ve got to be willing to change.”
@BeaversBruceW It's okay to lose, no team wins every game. It's not okay to embrace the losing environment. This is unfair to the athletes and fans that bleed orange. A culture change needs to be made now. It starts at the top.
