I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.
Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.
Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.
Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.
As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
It was lovely to return home to celebrate the Jubilee for Social Justice with @CSANonline this weekend. #DoJustice
Inspiring to hear some of the work taking place up and down the country through the Caritas network.
And three points against Everton just topped off the day.
Wonderful evening hearing from Maurice Glasman and Jon Cruddas on statecraft, Catholic Social Teaching, and seeking to build the Common Good in a time of challenge and change. Thanks to Jenny Sinclair @T4CG for hosting this series of lectures.
If we Christians and members of other religious traditions stand together, free from ideological and political conditioning, we can be effective in saying “no” to war and “yes” to peace, “no” to an economy that impoverishes people and the Earth and “yes” to integral development.
A wonderful piece, written straight from the heart.
Sincere, devastating, joyful, and so beautifully honest throughout.
Alisson Becker on love, loss, faith and family.
Today we give thanks for the life and service of Pope Francis, an extraordinary leader, gone home now to God.
He brought the message of Matthew 25:40 to the heart of the Church.
Eternal rest grant upon him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
