To my friends across the UK who are understandably scared tonight, remember: the cowards rioting and looting are a tiny, idiotic minority who will wake up tomorrow petrified of the knock on the door that's coming. Sleep well knowing that they won't.
Those who have pleaded guilty this morning to violent disorder in connection with the Sunderland riots are:
Andrew Smith, 41 (Cried in court)
Leanne Hodgson, 43.
Josh Kellett, 29, AKA Josh Major
All three were remanded and will be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court on Sept 2
Have you ever received a #scam message? 📨
Did you know that the person sending it could be a victim of human trafficking?
This is #forcedscamming: a new, brutal form of #slavery which is growing fast.

You know you’re definitely ready for a Senior Railcard when a nice young lady gives up her seat for you on a crowded train (and your wife comments that you’re an old codger with a bad back)
Started my new part-time fixed-term role as an MSc Project Supervisor at the School of Computing Science, University of Glasgow yesterday! @GlasgowCS https://t.co/FocVBF4BWM
Visiting the University of Glasgow today to establish my Right to Work (show my passport in person) with HR in Tay House, and met briefly with Dr Mark McGill at the School of Computing Science on campus.
On Thu last week, I signed a contract as a part-time remote MSc Project Supervisor in Computing Science with the University of Glasgow. I start mid-May for a fixed period of five months, and so will be looking for another academic or systems developer role starting after mid-Oct.
Sadly, due to CAP’s financial difficulties, caused by the cost of living crisis, I took voluntary redundancy in mid-March after only five and a half months with them as a systems developer. I am now planning to move into ‘phased retirement’ i.e. taking only part-time roles.
Arrived in Bradford for my second week of induction with Christians Against Poverty (@CAPuk); tomorrow is a big day - formal opening of the new Head Office too!
NEW: income inequality in US & UK is so wide that while the richest are very well off, the poorest have a worse standard of living than the poorest in countries like Slovenia https://t.co/gtHvhNsnuT
Essentially, US & UK are poor societies with some very rich people.
