It’s been a privilege to serve #GrovePark as your councillor over the last 4 years.
I’m not going anywhere, but a few thoughts after a couple of days of reflection and (mostly) sleep.
People say Tony Blair isn't a true Labour man but I don't know what's more Labour than sharing a 6,000 word blog post about your relationship with the Labour Party
Don't want to overdo it but the coach welcome at Spurs was huge. Kids on their dads' shoulders. One guy up a lamppost. At least 10 fans on top of a bus stop.
@kateferguson4 I do think there is a case to take planning/licensing powers out of local authorities in Zone 1 and give to the GLA because central London absolutely isn’t just a ‘local’ space. Not sure you’d be able to do the same for the entirety of the city let alone Greater London though.
@AaronBastani Correct position politically but Kane/Haaland would be a nightmare balance-wise, they’d be constantly getting in each other’s way. Lampard/Gerrard again but 30 yards further forward.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Green by-election candidate Chris Kennedy shared posts on social media describing an attack on Jewish ambulances in north London as a “false flag”
When approached by The Times, he apologised for the posts and quit today citing "personal reasons"

Me watching an enormous number of otherwise clever people desperately drawing outsized conclusions from @FindoutnowUK, notoriously Britain’s least reliable pollster, publishing a poll of political party members, the hardest group of people to accurately poll.
Despite what people think politics isn't a game. So many of these people misunderstand the important role of a local councillor in keeping our communities running, being a councillor is an honour. This is an insult to voters and a huge waste of money.
Really hope this bill gets supported by MPs high up in the Private Members’ Bill ballot.
Parents of seriously ill children shouldn’t have to worry about their job when taking time out to look after them.
It’s almost time for the Private Members’ Bill ballot in Parliament. A chance for an MP to put forward something meaningful, powerful and workable into law.
What better opportunity than supporting parents of seriously ill children? Hugh’s Law is not just an idea anymore. It is already operating in practice, protecting over 20,000 employees across the UK through employers who have voluntarily adopted its principles, including Premier League clubs, national businesses and professional organisations.
It is drafted and ready to go.
It is researched.
It is costed.
It is workable.
Now Parliament has the opportunity to do the right thing and place these protections onto a statutory footing for every parent facing the unimaginable.
Parents deserve better. 🇬🇧
Good to get back out on the doorstep in Crofton Park 🌹
Note to the bots in the replies - Crofton Park isn’t in Makerfield and this is a by-election to Lewisham Council! 😂
