@Caro218_ It’s a final . And there was plenty of comment about Harry along similar lines to Paddy Voss….smart but let’s change the rule. I made some of those comments myself
@LaurenHeraldSun@SamTomlin539@FootyRhino (Cont) in 2015 mid season. With the Dockers unbeaten my wife and I committed to the trip for her and the kids in July. And any other club that says they haven’t heard anything o f such a thing is either speaking out of ignorance of what faces WA teams or lying to you
@LaurenHeraldSun@SamTomlin539@FootyRhino the discussion was balanced which is expected from the three of you / all good operators. But the context here is that this is pretty much standard operational procedure for a WA club hoping to go deep in finals. And not just for corporates - fans here have to commit early too
@FootyRhino@Megataurean@LaurenHeraldSun PS: It gets that stuff in place so that IF they make the grand final their staff can focus on dealing with what is already a chaotic week
@FootyRhino@Megataurean@LaurenHeraldSun The Dockers did much the same thing in 2013 except it was after the qualifying final win. It was explained to the footy dept at that time that it was necessary logistically. These people have to get flights to the other side of the country not catch an Uber to the MCG
For the saints to play off five days in Perth then off six days back In Melbourne equals competitive disadvantage and magnifies the chances of what we saw in the first half. Surely the afl can be better and fairer than this with it’s fixtures
@hurkymark It happens a lot but the point is it is bad practice and a recipe for bad games. Not saying the saints are the only mob this has happened to. I am saying there should be some fixture fundamentals that stop it happening to anyone
@ShaynoB84 Equal prep neutral venue and the hawks still win seven out of 10 because they are a top six team and the saints might be top 10. But shouldn’t the AFLs aim be to get more good games which would lead to better ratings and then more money. Their process is arse about.
@ShaynoB84 The hawks stuck it in neutral and rolled home. Gunston on the bench. Mitchell next to him giggling for most of the final term. Every time the saints kicked a couple the hawks responded very easily
