@RetroNewsNow This is the algorithm I memorized back in the early 80s, and still use. It’s not particularly efficient, and my best time is one minute 14 seconds. Thanks, Mr Nourse.
@repeat_the_past@_MikeMcCartney_ He scared the willies out of me too, again for no good reason. What is the song?
Ken Dodd freaked me as well, probably because of the hair.
But I love Milton Jones.
@BrianTHart The coverage was shambolic. From the launch camera operator who suddenly thought it would be a good idea to tilt the camera up to follow the rocket after it had left the frame, to the cut to the crowd you mention, to the unstabilized zoom, to the unnecessary crosshairs…
@AdamBrimson@oldtoons_ I noticed this as well. If it had been unintentional then their path would be the same as their actual entrance. Also, the male dancer usually faces forward so this was flipped intentionally.
However, the point about not messing with main characters is well taken.
@OnlyACartwright While most of this model is from the film, the two counter-rotating modules have been added. They resemble the space station in Earth orbit, but were not part of the spaceship Discovery.
@joeydanna@BrianRoemmele My Dad brought one of these home in the mid-70s, rescuing it from the landfill. I never did any useful work on it, but entered a lot of multiplication tasks just for fun. I lost track of it, and would pay good money to have it (or one like it) back again. Ah, the sound!
@natehale@Hoang_HQ I remember Mason Williams playing Classical Gas on one of those shows. The guitar was clear plastic, partially filled with water, and had a goldfish swimming in it.
