March 2024 was the first month in THORChain history with over $10b in trading volume 🎉
A major win for DEXs, but the goal is unambiguously to flip the volume and liquidity of centralized exchanges.
Bitcoin liquidity will live natively, on-chain. Onwards
Have been a @THORChain holder ever since @DegenSpartan started talking about it. Today I used @THORSwap for the first time to swap native ETH to native BTC and I am generally impressed.
I'm going to get some haters, but this is the day I add some real Bitcoin, leveraged on ThorChain.
Thanks in advance for all the people saying
- "bro wasn't around in 2021"
- "dude, do you know about Celsius?"
- ⚠️⚠️⚠️
- Vorhees is a 💩🪙er

What's your sexist #runePorn? I'll go first... $50bn vol per day. This would put @THORChain as the top crypto exchange in the world beating binance.
How do we get there? Pull up a chair...
1. Scale the tech. We need to improve efficiency of the stack. This means batch outbounds which allows our signing speed to be limited by the exogenous chain. Bifrost reaches off-chain consensus for observations (aka block set). More efficient arbs (trade accounts). Faster conf counting (v130).
2. Moar integrations. Get every major dex and wallet and even some CEXes to integrate. TC would become THE liquidity center of crypto. The price of #Bitcoin , for example, would be defined on TC.
3. Moar arbs. Having more arbs and a higher class of arbs would cause better price execution and a healthier market.
4. Moar TVL. Deeper pools means more volume, more liquidity, and thus better price execution. I don't think there are any "features" to launch here, rune price appreciation would increase this naturally.
5. Moar Security. Getting high quality nodes to enter (ie UIs, CEXes, etc). Again, not a lot feature wise for this except for bond allocation which allows a node to give a UI faster execution by putting their bond up as collateral.
6. Pro tools. Most of the volume in the space is not retail swappers, it's with pro traders. Offering tools like limit orders and perps will usher in a whole new class of users, one that is much larger that retail swaps.
Did I miss anything?

Summary
In this conversation, Chad discusses various aspects of Thorchain and its design. He talks about the concept of the 'Chad' meme and how it is unrelated to him personally. He explains the design of Thorchain as a bridge between different blockchains, with validators running full nodes of various blockchains. He emphasizes the importance of economic incentives in crypto and how Thorchain's token economics drive value into the protocol. Chad also discusses the process of opening a loan on Thorchain and how it contributes to the growth of the protocol.
Chad then discusses various aspects of Thorchain, including how loans work, the role of collateral and debt, and the importance of network incentives. He explains that loans are based on the value of the collateral, not the specific asset, and that anyone can pay down someone else's debt (but not obtain their collateral!). Chad also highlights the importance of maintaining liquidity in the pools and the role of validators in making decisions for the protocol. He emphasizes the need for community involvement and the ability to pause and fix any issues that may arise.
Takeaways
-- The 'Chad' meme is unrelated to Chad personally and is a coincidence of the name.
-- Thorchain is designed as a bridge between different blockchains, with validators running full nodes of various blockchains.
-- Thorchain's token economics drive value into the protocol, with every action on the protocol contributing to the value of the Rune token.
-- Opening a loan on Thorchain creates buy and burn pressure on the Rune asset, increasing its value and contributing to the growth of the protocol.
-- Loans in Thorchain are based on the value of the collateral, not the specific asset received.
-- Anyone can pay down someone else's debt in Thorchain.
-- Maintaining liquidity in the pools is crucial for the stability of the system.
-- Validators play a key role in making decisions for the protocol.
-- The community has the ability to pause and fix any issues that may arise in the system.

Imagine you have 1 bitcoin. You bought that bitcoin at 3k in 2017.
You don’t have much in other assets.
You have an urgent need for 35k.
Option 1. Sell your bitcoin. Pay 30k in state and federal taxes. Pay the bill. You are left with 0.1 bt
Option 2. Borrow 35k on Thor. No taxes. Wait until btc goes to 500k and sell off 0.2 btc to cover taxes and your loan. Move the btc back to cold storage.

This one chart summarizes @THORChain's journey to becoming the #1 cross-chain DEX in the industry. The network survived the Terra blow up, 2 year bear market, and growing pains while scaling, and now its doing >$1b in volume per week. We have more scaling to do, onwards.
The Bitcoin Wizard is becoming the mascot of @THORChain! 🥳
Thorchain is one of the biggest and best dexs so we're honored for this to happen. There will also be very rare Thor Wizards given out to special wizards, take a look at 2 of them here 👀
$SOL on @THORChain updates:
* cryptography contractor verified bnb-chain/tss-lib/eddsa for our usage
parallel paths starting now:
* as a benefit to all who utilize it, TC will foot the bill for @KudelskiSec audit
* consulting with the original author of bifrost to add multi-encryption type support
* 9R to build chain client and infra
a concerted team effort is underway to bring native $BTC liquidity to @Solana.
TC's largest affiliate wallet has earned $1m in the last month.
The last 7 days has been on track to reach $1.5m a month.

@donaldblakee@SwenLink@THORChain I wouldn’t base it on current yields but anchor it at a current base price of rune vs exogenous asset versus your future expectations of how bullish you are on $rune. You’ll need rune to outperform to other asset
