@SubHatchman "A man that won't change can't change". I'm sure they use to say that about me. I know, I use to say that about me. Can you Guess What helped me learn how to change? (Hint: it isn't a Roadside Assistance Insurer.)
@traumaanonymous Pick a Sponsor who is solid in their Sobriety, easy to communicate with and motivated only by a desire to return the gift given to them by their own sponsor.
@traumaanonymous When I got sober, they urged me to get a Sponsor as soon as possible. Not a person of the opposite sex, A Lesbian Friend in Sobriety 20yrs was not allowed. Not a relative. My Sisters 2nd Husband, Sober 24yrs was disqualified. One Year of Sobriety was Ok. Weird Rules/Traditions.
@TravisM68005323@recovery_your @HorowitzLana The Tool I use to avoid folks that don't see things the way I do in a way that's irritating. Travis is "BLOCKED". He wouldn't have been had he shown a smidgin of Empathy.
@AliceHartlovey TBI gives me regular reminders of when addiction controlled me. Sometimes I need a wakeup call to reflect on the strength of my Sobriety. It doesn't make me Stronger. It keeps me Vigilant & Grateful for the life Sobriety has brought.
I know Who I was is not who I am. As are you.
@_BLShelton Thank you. Though our experiences are different, I was also speaking to the family issues that are intwined in my prior substance abuse. I have been sober for 21 years. The other Issues, aggravated by my own TBI, persist but won't break me again. Take Care of Yourself, as Well.
