I'm incredibly proud to be leading this new organisation to represent and support the Scottish esports community. It will take time to build those foundations on a platform of trust and to show our vision for it's development nationally🏴
Scottish Esports, a Community Interest Company (CIC), officially launches as the national body for esports in Scotland! 🎮🏴

@ensee_eu@ScotEsports Grassroots and amateur tiers in any activity are knowingly unpaid. Semi-pro is where compensation begins. In esports, a flat digital ecosystem makes amateur players demand pro-level pay before creating an ounce of commercial value. It’s completely unsustainable and kills orgs.
What do you want to see from esports and gaming in Scotland? 🏴
It doesn’t need to be @ScotEsports related either. We need more active discussion.
Outside perspectives help too!
But what is completely missing from the scene right now and what would you like to happen?👇
@ensee_eu@ScotEsports In our discord we had a good discussion on this. A point that was raised that I personally don’t agree with:
Why would I pay into an org / club when I could get paid to play by another org / club?
To me this isn’t sustainable and is a big put off for someone setting up an org.
@Yogi_RL08@ScotEsports Sadly something I mentioned was the lack of teams / orgs in Scotland. Which shows that there is no demand from a tournament perspective. I have a feeling the concept of “grassroots” is being conflated with amateur and semi-pro levels where expectations are too high for an org.
Huge thanks to the 20 fantastic people who joined our inaugural Glasgow meetup last month, despite the unusual hot weather and Scotland v Brazil World Cup match! ☀️
We’ve taken your feedback on board and streamlined registration directly through our website for future events!👇
There is still space to attend this Wednesday!
We look forward to wecloming you on the night for gaming and esports chats (and yes, we are still game) 🎮
You can be born anywhere.
That’s chance.
The rest is… choice.
Choose the sun in Naples
and the rain in Glasgow.
Choose heading to a World Cup.
Choose tattie scones on a Tuesday
and pizza on a Wednesday.
Ignore everyone telling you it’s easier the other way
and embrace being the underdog.
Choose a skipper that’s always on duty.
Choose getting absolutely written off
and getting up and showing them anyway.
You can’t decide where you’re born.
But you can decide who you stand with.
CHOOSE SCOTLAND 🏴
A giant inflatable World Cup soccer ball broke free, turning traffic into a game of Rocket League
Some drivers tried to avoid the ball, but a truck appeared to hit it
From debuting in Tier 1 Valorant commentating to being on the international desk within the space of a year is so inspiring! Very proud of @billieeidk, we love to see the Scottish representation across international events. Keep up the great work! 🏴
