@twentyone@NYSE@tether@SoftBank@jackmallers Is there video of XXI ringing the bell? The video on NYSE site is not XXI (it shows Sunoco). I'd love to see the bell ringing. Congrats.
@garrettoj thank you for speaking to our group of RIAs, Multi-family Offices & High-end Financial Advisors about Bitcoin & the management of risk around those client conversations.
You are helping traditional-finance better understand the Bitcoin client-planning opportunities
I sympathize with the pain of scientists losing their grants. But... when you make a pact with the devil, you get the horns. My own 20 years of self-funded scientific work has shown me that most scientists are a government employees who've literally signed away their autonomy and freedom of speech. Scientists must be EXTREMELY vigilant about what they say and who they criticize. Scientists across a dozen disciplines have privately told me that most papers in their field are BS. Most progress is made in spite of the system, not because of it. Science is a corrupt profession monopolized by politicians & bureaucrats. I say this as a person who has never received a dime of tax-funded support. I have paid Open Access fees out of my own pocket and raised money for nonprofit and for-profit projects. A brilliant postdoc asked me for career advice. I replied: "Do NOT take any position that compromises your autonomy or freedom of speech." The only scientists with freedom of speech are those who have attained some form of financial independence. The scientists I most admire, I admire for their willingness to stand AGAINST the system... not for their participation IN the system.
@idahohodl Jessy, really enjoyed your interview with Preston. I'm a financial advisor in Fort Worth, Texas. I'm active in the financial advisor community, working hard to bring Bitcoin to a community that's complacent on the one end and with total rejection of Bitcoin on the other end. Could I connect with you directly about this?
I’m Committed to helping professional financial advisors, embrace, and understand bitcoin. At least enough to manage a coherent conversation with an affluent bitcoiner. These are potential ideal, clients, but not if you know nothing about bitcoin
@DzambhalaHODL Loved your swan signal live episode. Sorry you had to leave early, but I actually wrote down a quote of yours. " NO CHILL TILL $1 MIL". ... That quote makes life so much easier. No more discussions about, when will it hit 150, or when will it hit 275. Forget that. No chill to $1 mil. With that perspective, it's like you're a time traveler coming back from the future with knowledge that gives you confidence. You don't have to hodl anymore? Because you have the calm confidence of knowing it's going to $1 mil. Can't be bothered with all the day-to-day "apocalypse du jour" conversations. No more hair on fire, I'm just waiting for $1 mil. ... And then I switch to no chill till $2 mil.
@rubendua is there a Dubb plug-in for posting on the X platform? Or do I just use the social media selection? Any tips for posting Dubb videos on X? (Our firm loves Dubb)
Bitcoin is money that has been perfected.
- It will hold its value better than any other currency over time
- It'll retain its purchasing power as the Us dollar continues to decline, as it has since inception. Bitcoin will stop the bleeding of the dollar which buys less and less every year.
- It can be transferred to anyone you want, anywhere in the world, in seconds, without any banks or authorities standing in between.
- It is secured with a fortress of mathematics, which utilizes the equivalent of 20 nuclear reactors per year to keep your money safe.
- Yet nobody can rob you since it exists in your head. Even if a criminal holds a gun to your head, they don't get your money unless you want to give it to them, because the keys are in your mind.
In short, it does what no other money can do.
Someone asked me today “what is the point of Bitcoin?”
How would you respond in one sentence without using any technical jargon, buzzwords, or clichés?
@scottschang , i’ve read that ChatGPT is considering accepting advertisers. Do you think the GPT‘s will be trustworthy if they do that? Would you be worried that the responses would carry a conflict of interest in favor of those paid advertisers?
@DzambhalaHODL help me understand a custodial multi-sig setup. I get that 1 signature is in my cold wallet, 1 signature is in my hot wallet (Mobile app) , and 1 signature is with the collaborative institution (in case I lose one of my other 2 signatures). Two out of three signatures are required. Have I got that right? I understand that I can transact without the institution . But if the collaborative institution somehow gains control of my hot wallet, doesn't the institution now have 2 out of the 3 signatures? The trust factor would be that the institution doesn't have some sort of a back door into the hot wallet around the owner's security. Other than that, I love the collaborative multi-sig setup. Protects me from myself. Can you help me get over my obstacle?
Replace "bitcoin" with "the dollar"... then Warren & Charlie's comments are accurate. When asked directly about inflation's impact on Berkshire stock & their comments have always sounded to me like "rat poison squared" describing the fiat currency. Funny that Warren holds SOOO MUCH fiat right now.
