Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.
Trump: "I was recently at an event and I saw that France was celebrating Victory Day, but we didn't. And I saw France was celebrating another Victory Day for World War 2. And other countries were celebrating. They were all celebrating. We're the one that won the wars."
Speaker Mike Johnson lives in a $3,000-a-month home. He donates his $224,000 salary to those in need, gave up a $250,000 bonus to help flood victims, and takes only a $10,000 annual allowance — the rest goes to veteran housing assistance.
He’s paid over $500,000 in rent for 70 homeless veterans, cut his office budget by $1 million, flies economy, and stays in budget hotels — then donates the $80,000 he saves to local food banks.
His wife turned their garage into a free cancer therapy center, and on holidays, their family volunteers at shelters while their kids travel to disaster zones to help with relief efforts.
But sure — tell me more about how conservative leadership doesn’t truly look out for those in need.
We can contribute by not voting for any current members of Congress. I’d love to see that become a Constitutional Amendment, all members of congress are permanently banned from seeking reelection if a government shutdown occurs.
@SenMullin@1BellaPrime@Kash_Patel@TulsiGabbard@RobertKennedyJr@PeteHegseth “Ready for a fight”? Republicans have control of all three branches of government, why is there any fighting? You have 22 months to show Americans that Republicans can govern and lead. We are all tired of these juvenile games and the paybacks.
@AConcernedPare2@FixingEducation Fix education? Start by fixing parents. Kids don’t need phones at school. They want them and parents don’t want to fight that battle. Check your kids usage and tell me why they score poorly on ACT or SAT.
@AConcernedPare2@FixingEducation It’s never ending. Phones need be banned from schools entirely. If you need get a hold of your child, call the school. Teens and preteens are addicted to their phones. If you send your child to school with a phone, earbuds, battery charger—what do you think they are doing?
Lol. 1st?
How about President #2 and President #3 dying on the same day. That day happened to be the 50th birthday of the USA - July 4, 1826.
Imagine if Trump and Biden were to expire on the same day. Fragile humans would freak out.
@MeetThePress Please do not allow guests (Trusty) to say “sit Indian style”. You just had the Tennessee lawmakers on trying to help Black and Brown people. Then this comment in the very next segment. We have work to do. @chucktodd
@OccupyDemocrats I have “joked” for years that members of Congress should be forced to live in a dormitory setting - not what we remember as dorm living but apartment style.
Supreme Court maybe ought to do the same. Repubs and Dems alike could benefit by living and eating with each other. So sad
