In the final ride for @PostSports in the @APSE_sportmedia contest, The Post earns a Triple Crown with top 10s for Print Portfolio, Digital Contest and Projects. We were kind of good at covering sports. I'll thread the rest of our well-deserved top 10s.

Big thanks to @MarkRSelig for joining my “Intro to Sports Writing and Reporting” class in @SMPAGWU. Appreciate the insights he shared working for @washingtonpost as an editor and working with sports reporters on various beats. Always great to welcome a fellow @merrillcollege grad
We adore and admire this man @JasonMurray117, this sports editor, in a way that reflects the unusual camaraderie long present in the @washingtonpost Sports department, and stands among a hundred explanations for the depths of the sadness of the bygone week.
The only other story that came close was on a high school player who broke the Maryland scoring record, led his team to a state championship and went on to play at Michigan State.
I went back and looked...
In all of 2025 we had just one feature on "local" basketball that exceeded 2,000 words: A profile on Wizards' first-round pick Tre Johnson. It was 2,022 words.
Just to be clear, there were no 2,000-word features on a local basketball team. More than anything, it speaks to the lack of engagement with the sports department from whoever this unnamed person is, someone who likely helped decide the fate of dedicated reporters and editors.
@TheRealJuzzo1@PostSports It’s probably difficult for you to imagine people having other people that care about them.
Ping me the next time one of your tweets gets a single ❤️
I’m out after nearly nine years at @PostSports.
Really grateful for the journalist and person I became while getting to work with the best in the business.
@TheRealJuzzo1@PostSports Nah, nothing coordinated. I don’t really tweet, and didn’t plan to tweet this, but a lot of people were checking up on me to see if I was spared. So this was an efficient way to communicate that I wasn’t. Great to have your theories in the discourse.
Tom and @tashanreed came here with an impossible task: hit the ground running, delivering news & insights on the Washington Commanders.
And all they did was kick butt all season long, serving Commanders fans & fitting in as awesome @PostSports teammates.
Last month I started a new role overseeing Commanders/Wizards/Mystics/Preps coverage, and the team has been exceptional. Still geeking out over our NFL preview cover.
Finally, @M_Errigo is leading a group of reporters covering H.S. sports, and tonight they'll debut Friday Night Live, a hub for scores, sites and game updates. Michael is an ace reporter and editor who knows the scene intimately. https://t.co/HTGDLSQuMz
