The #Jordan/Tamimi case should have become a strategic US concern. The fact that it’s not, and why it’s not, is now the real story.
Consider:
• A massacre targeting Jewish children takes 16 lives including 3 Americans.
• The mastermind, Hamas barbarian #AhlamTamimi, becomes a hero and icon for what she did. She brags to global Arabic-speaking audiences that it’s “my operation”, “a crown on my head”.
• US terror charges against her are filed in Washington in 2013; they’re kept secret for the next 4 years. In the same week they’re made public in 2017, Jordan convenes a court hearing and declares its 1995 extradition treaty with the US “invalid”. Legal experts say it’s not.
• No public call on Jordan - to cease harboring her, to respect the treaty in the Tamimi case, to hand her over - ever gets sounded by any US official.
• Jordan’s king keeps being received annually in Washington. The crime and the shameful harboring go unmentioned in Congress and rarely reported in the US news media.
• Quietly, insiders say the massacre makes Tamimi popular in Jordan; that sending her to trial in Washington puts the kingdom’s stability at risk. Everyone relevant buys in. There’s no public questioning.
• US justice? The victims? The pro-terror message that this savage’s freedom sends out? No one cares.

My four year old granddaughter's birthday is today. When I called to wish her a happy birthday, she made a bracha that I should have a lot of friends. Coming from a four year old, that's high praise. :)
