American Rebirth at 250
As we reflect on the United States’ 250th birthday, it’s worth remembering that this country’s core habit is not stability, it is rebirth.
From the moment the Puritans walked away from Europe, they were betting that when institutions rot, you leave, you build, you start again. Their “city upon a hill” was not a victory lap, it was a standing threat: if you fail, the world will see it, and if you succeed, the world will see that too.
That pattern has powered every inflection point since. Manifest Destiny turned the continent into a balance sheet of possibilities: rails, towns, mills, and mines were not just projects, they were proof that the republic could translate belief into productive capacity.
Pearl Harbor fit the same script. One surprise strike, one “day of infamy,” and within 24 hours the United States had moved from Sunday shock to a formal declaration of war, then to an industrial mobilization that re-engineered global power in under four years.
America’s instinct is brutally simple, when hit, focus, build and innovate.
Trump’s politics sit squarely inside that tradition. “American carnage” is a bleak diagnosis, but it is not a concession speech, it’s a prelude to “make America great again.”
What’s new is the explicit reach back to Hamilton, Clay, and the American System: tariffs as strategic tools, internal improvements as national platforms, finance harnessed to productive investment rather than abstract arbitrage. That is not mere nostalgia, it’s an attempt to reload the software that made the first American rise possible, this time in a world of chips, energy systems, and weaponized supply chains.
And yet, the Street keeps trading as if U.S. exceptionalism were a stale factor, fully priced, fully played, now in structural fade. That view simply does not match the country’s record.
When America fuses a grievance-driven jeremiad with a coherent program for building capacity, the result has historically not been gentle mean reversion, it has been inflection.
If the Hamilton-Clay logic now finds real policy teeth under Trump, we are not drifting into the twilight of an exhausted hegemon, we are standing at the front end of another American up-cycle, one more Golden Era built on the same edge that has always mattered: a political economy that turns crisis into concrete, anger into assets, and a culture that embraces winning as it anchors the free world.
@StephenM The past 10 years have been difficult to watch, as our government revealed itself to be corrupted by power, money and foreign interference.
We are in a Civil War and victory is not guaranteed.
@isaacrrr7@EvaVlaar The British people fear their own Monarchy and government.
Rulers and politicians that have abdicated their most sacred responsibility to protect children and women from rape.
Do not remain calm and carry on the fight!
Today, America wakes 250 years later as a beacon of hope, a republic entrusted to its people, an idea that changed the world.
A nation worth preserving. A dream worth pursuing. A freedom defended by every generation.
Happy 250th, America! 🇺🇸
.@POTUS: From the roaring waters of Niagara Falls to the shimmering gushers of oil and fire in our beloved Texas, from the magnificent fields of corn and wheat and barley of our farms in the Midwest, to the vast canyons of finance in New York City, from the billowing stacks of steel now being produced all over our country, to the car plants that are rising like we have never seen before, to technology from the minds of geniuses that is being brought to life in all corners of our country, from the snow-capped peaks of the Rockies to the white-sand shores of the Gulf of America, and to right here in the Black Hills of the Dakotas, after 250 years, American Freedom still rings, the American Dream still lives, and the American Flag still flies, more proudly than ever, over the people who will not quit, the nation that will not fail, and the country that will not fall—no matter how hard the enemy tries.
Tomorrow, we reach a milestone like no other, and celebrate with joyful hearts and soaring spirits—because after two and a half centuries, we know that this is not an ending, this is only the beginning of the Golden Age of America.
And together, we will make America bigger, better, and stronger than ever before! Happy Independence Day to all—God Bless You, and God Bless America!
Our current Civil War:
I must point out that in 2016 a President was elected who was immediately rejected by a certain portion of the population and by state and local governments. They brought criminal legal action against Trump and impeached him before he'd even had a chance to do anything, and accused him of being a dictator and the death of democracy — though it was they who rejected a lawful election and threw the Constitution out the window. Sanctuary laws in defiance of federal authority are in every case the equivalent of besieging and firing on Ft. Sumter.
When Trump won reelection in 2024, the rebels doubled down on their secession from the Union by passing laws against federal officers enforcing federal law within their sanctuary purview, all the time claiming that Trump was oppressing THEM by taking completely proper actions. So by rejecting the results of the election, they are in open rebellion.
And if you say “Trump is no Lincoln” you'd be right. Trump has not arrested and charged with treason the deniers and rejectors of federal authority, including mayors and governors who threaten to prosecute federal officers for enforcing the law. Trump has been far more restrained than Lincoln ever was — though the defiance of the Constitution is no less egregious. Sanctuary laws are exactly the same as secession — a declaration that the federal government has no authority here. They have declared war against the President and openly abused him as has not been done to a President since Lincoln. But the President has not sent federal troops to arrest those publicly guilty of sedition and treason, and take over the defiant government bodies and throw them in jail. They claim to fear Trump's officers — while they are the ones who suppress free speech and try to adjust campaign laws so as to prevent the candidates they oppose from being on the ballot. California doesn't even pretend to be a democracy anymore … but Trump stays his hand.
So, true — he is no Lincoln. He has been infinitely lenient in dealing with people and governments that are in open rebellion against the federal government because the wrong guy made it into the White House.
@FDRLST "Lamentable Consequences" understates the current crisis of confidence Americans have for Congress. Manufactured elections have intentionally produced thin majorities in both houses, resulting in plausible legislative gridlock.
The SAVE Act is the only solution.
@FDRLST Blue States understand 2A, disagree with 2A, know a Constitutional Amendment to overturn 2A is impossible, and therefore generate a steady drip of laws to undermine 2A.
An armed citizenry is the best deterrent of tyranny.
Eric Trump just flipped the script on Chris Cuomo live on-air, leaving him shocked.
Cuomo accused President Trump of going after his political opponents the moment he took office…
Eric sounded off:
“Did we, did we try and bankrupt Biden? Did we raid Biden's home? Did we try and bankrupt Biden?”
“Did we weaponize every AG and DA against Biden? Do we do that against Hunter Biden who had a laptop from hell, pictures of cocaine, illicit drug use, prostitution?”
“Did we make up a dirty dossier? About Biden, did they try and destroy Biden's marriage? Did we make up stories that Biden had secret servers in the basement of his home communicating with the Kremlin in Russia?”
“Did we strip Biden off the ballot of multiple states? Did we take Biden off of Twitter and Instagram and Facebook and try and silence his voice so he couldn't communicate?”
“Did we put Biden in a courtroom every single day for nonsense to try and keep him off of a campaign trail to try and destroy his life?”
Well done @MrPoolQ1
The IRGC and Mullahs are being given a choice. Comply with the ceasefire or have the military assets that launch the drones destroyed. The Iranian leadership that ordered the attacks are not the soldiers that are being killed. The soldiers killed and the targets destroyed accomplished nothing, while those that clear the wreckage and bodies question the rationale. 47 years of chanting "Death to America" and now America is flying unobstructed over their country and sailing past their shores while the Strait of Hormuz is open.
This is no longer a war of attrition; it is now a psychological war of learned helplessness.

Q-Day approaches.
The free world trusts American capitalism.
@IngrahamAngle The SAVE Act is needed today to protect our future.
How can the GOP Senate be so obtuse to start a 19 day vacation when our elections are compromised in CA and Communists are elected in NYC.
I’m losing faith in our government.
JUST IN: The viral Knicks parade trash can stunt has now led to city fines.
Angie Báez returned the commemorative Knicks-themed litter basket after sanitation officials tracked it down, days after video showed her dumping trash onto a Manhattan sidewalk and walking away with the can.
New York City issued her a $75 littering fine and a $100 fine for impeding Department of Sanitation operations. She had already lost her job as a JPMorgan Chase DEI executive after the video went viral.
