This is crazy. Here are 2 fields,

- One is natural grass
- The other is artificial turf

If you take a temperature gun and measure the temperature the grass field is 104 degrees. The artificial grass is 178 degrees

“Which field do you want your kids playing on? Not to mention the smell, the reek of burning plastic. It is so disgusting”

We have to stop with everything being synthetic and go back to natural

I found that artificial turf can routinely get extremely hot on sunny days, often reaching 180°F

The “reek of burning plastic” comes from the plastic blades polyethylene, polypropylene and rubber heating up and off-gassing

For reference touching something that’s 180 degrees can cause a severe second degree burn
