De todos os vídeos que vi do terremoto na Venezuela, esse é sem dúvida o mais angustiante.
Parece filme de terror.
Quanto mais desce, mais o prédio tá quebrado, aí o desespero bate pra sair logo. 😱
For those who doubt it, this is the timeline of corruption:
Late May 2024: Christopher Harborne secretly transfers £5 million to Nigel Farage.
3 June 2024: Days after the transfer, Farage announces he will stand for Parliament.
4 July 2024: Farage is elected MP for Clacton.
29 May 2025: Farage announces that Reform UK will become the first British political party to accept donations in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
29 May 2025: Speaking at the Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas, Farage unveils plans for a Crypto Assets and Digital Finance Bill, including reducing capital gains tax on crypto assets from 24% to 10%, creating a Bitcoin reserve at the Bank of England, and preventing banks from debanking crypto users.
September 2025: Farage publicly namechecks Tether and Bitfinex, companies in which Christopher Harborne is a major shareholder, and says he is going to the Bank of England to argue against restrictions on crypto and against the proposed digital pound.
13 October 2025: At the Digital Asset Summit in London, Farage says he wants to “bring crypto in from the cold” and immediately halt work on a UK central bank digital currency (“Britcoin”).
25 October 2025: At the Zebu Live crypto conference in London, Farage positions himself as a political champion of the crypto industry and repeats calls for lower crypto taxation and wider adoption.
3 November 2025: In a speech in the City of London, Farage again calls for crypto deregulation and for the UK to become a global crypto hub.
If it could be proven that the £5 million secret payment influenced Farage’s actions as a sitting MP, that raises extremely serious questions. Potential issues could include parliamentary standards breaches, tax issues, bribery or corruption offences. Under the Bribery Act 2010, the most serious bribery offences carry a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment.
I think it's fair to say that Nigel Farage's return to the media round yesterday morning was an unmitigated catastrophe.
When he began his defence to Sally Nugent on the BBC, he repeated his mantra “no one cares” to her three times.
He could not have been further from the truth. With the exception of Ed Balls on ITV, the UK's interviewers finally found their backbones and took him to task over the five million pound bung/gift/donation.
Immediately taking the über-defensive stance, he made so many different claims, that even Julia Hartley-Brewer and Nick Ferrari got in on the anti-Farage action.
I assume there is a Grimm fairy tale that highlights the plight of a little boy that changes his story so many times that he can't remember his own truth.
Probably in that tale, he'll be eaten by a witch living in a giant flying bowl of some sort — and no, this is not an allegorical allusion to Hartley-Brewer, before you @ me!
Farage is that little boy. Talking to Sally Nugent, he told her that the money was an unconditional gift and it was none of her business what he spent it on, before saying he'd not spent it.
Going on, he told us that he needed it for a lifetime of security while on Nick Ferrari's show, he got so muddled up that he said it was definitely not used for a house purchase but ... maybe, and even if it were, he'd not tell anyone.
Oh, and he said he might have put it on the horses or bought some Ferraris.
The root of his story began when he told the world that it was an unconditional gift, but within days the official line had changed to a donation to cover a 'lifetime of security'. Only for it to morph again the following week into a gift for his work achieving Brexit.
Yesterday he trotted out all of these lines and more so you can see where the conspiracy stems from and why it won't be dropped any time soon.
And I'm sorry Nigel, we do care, absolutely everyone cares.
If you missed the relevant interview, here's the 3:45 when Sally Nugent instigated the end of Nigel Farage's career.
Bravo.
@ClarksonsFarm1 Skoda superb Laurent klement was amazing had cooking seats that also turned to heated, fantastic take me home lights that pivot and block car lights out, super comfortable loved it!!
“He’s not your dad! You didn’t inherit it. He’s a crypto billionaire living on the other side of the planet and he gave you [£5m].”🔥
“Are you spending it on Ferraris or are you spending it on your security?”
Blimey. Even pro Brexit talkTV can smell what’s coming out of Farage.
Open letter to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer
Dear Prime Minister,
I am writing as a Labour supporter who is deeply concerned by the growing pressure surrounding your leadership, but also as someone who has developed a genuine admiration for the way you conduct yourself.
What I respect most about you is your seriousness.
You are not a political showman. You do not rely on constant drama, easy slogans or theatrical promises. You come across as disciplined, intelligent, decent and deeply conscious of the responsibility that comes with leading the country.
In an age when politics is increasingly dominated by noise, outrage and personality cults, your calmness is a strength.
Your resilience is also admirable. You have faced relentless criticism, personal attacks and an often hostile media environment, yet you have continued to behave with dignity. You rarely lash out. You do not appear consumed by ego. You keep returning to the work.
That matters to me.
Britain has already endured years of political chaos, revolving-door prime ministers and governments more interested in internal warfare than governing. The country does not need another leadership contest. It needs stability, seriousness and delivery.
You were elected with a mandate to govern. You inherited damaged public services, weak growth, overcrowded prisons, an NHS under enormous pressure and public trust worn down by fourteen years of Conservative government. None of that can be repaired overnight.
I hope you will remain Prime Minister and continue the work until the next general election in 2029.
Labour MPs should understand that removing you now could trigger weeks of division, uncertainty and damaging promises made during a leadership contest. The press would feed on the chaos, financial markets could react, and Nigel Farage and Reform would be handed exactly the political instability they want.
This is not the time for Labour to imitate the Conservative Party.
I also believe your personality is better suited to this difficult period than many people appreciate. You are methodical rather than impulsive, measured rather than reckless, and focused on governing rather than performing.
Those qualities may not always generate exciting headlines, but they are the qualities a serious Prime Minister needs.
Leadership is not only about popularity. It is about character.
It is about remaining calm when others panic, showing discipline when others chase attention, and continuing the difficult work when the noise becomes unbearable.
Please hold the line.
Many Labour supporters still believe in your integrity, your determination and your sense of duty. Britain needs less political theatre and more delivery, and you deserve the opportunity to complete the job the country elected Labour and you to do.
Yours sincerely,
Thomas Soede
