Thread of our new paper: we combined a correlative species distribution model with thermal limits for growth of Halophila stipulacea. The model based on exotic Mediterranean thermal limits (14 - 36ºC) accurately agreed with the present distribution of the species

Models also indicate the suitability of multiple regions beyond the native range, such as the Algerian coast in
the western Mediterranean; therefore the expansion of H. stipulacea is not only limited by its capacity
to tolerate certain temperatures but is also dispersal limited.
