Jared Kushner mentions Germany as a former enemy of the U.S. in the context of current talks with russia. But he never mentions that the U.S. and the countries of the Alliance defeated Germany first. Then came years of reparations, accountability, and apologies from Germany. Only now, more than 80 years after the war, can you sit down and talk with Germany as an ally.
russia has never been punished for its horrific crimes, which at times have even surpassed the brutality of nazi ideology.

It has intensified its hybrid attacks against NATO, and it's deepened its ties with the likes of Iran and North Korea. So far, diplomacy has not changed Vladimir Putin's position. Following your latest meetings here and in Moscow, you say there are some new ideas. We've heard that before. You said that you were going to try. But if there is no breakthrough after these peace talks, is the US prepared to increase pressure on Russia?
JARED KUSHNER: Look, you know, we were sitting before with with Germany, right, which was a former you know, enemy of the US, and so there's no such thing, you know, in the world as you know, forever enemies or forever allies. And so, you know, we have to start with the first principle's idea of what the best outcome could be and what benefits all people. President Trump, comes from the business world, which in the business world, you think about things in the context of win-win. How do you create opportunities for both sides to do what's in their interest? A war is negative sum. Everyone loses from war. Whereas no business and peace is positive sum, and hopefully you can find big benefits from that in a big way. So, the role that Steve and I play, and again, we're part of a team in the US government, again led by President Trump and the Vice President JD Vance. and Marco Rubio and there's obviously Secretary Hegseth and the military and the intelligence groups as well. Our role is to try to be the ones, who are pursuing the peace. And like I said, if it was easy, it would've been done a long time ago. But it's a very important and noble pursuit, and we're gonna keep doing it with everything we have. And President Trump obviously has a lot of different ways to play it, but he's always focused on what are the best interests of, America and the United States and how do you find a way to do this in a way that can advance those interests.
