Juan Soto is a great hitter. But a huge liability in the outfield. I could never justify a 15 year contract for 750 million unless the player is elite on defense as well. And even then, I don’t know if I would do it. The @Mets will get 7-8 good, & healthy offensive years out of 15 if they’re lucky.

It’s not about star power it’s about team chemistry, & an entire team to win in the playoffs. One guy is never worth this kind of money. But good on him if they’re gonna give it out.

Alec Gamboa is 27 years old and has recently been moved back to a starting role, and had a very good year. In the hitter-friendly PCL he posted an ERA of 3.30, so he was good at not allowing runs.

Gamboa has had quite the road, and, quite honestly, has more than earned his shot at a Major League roster, and there is NO ONE that I have more respect for. And, there is NO ONE who I am rooting harder for. #dodgers
