Bill Maher: "Kamala Harris made a statement. She said, ‘This is a war the American people don’t want.’ And who knows more about what the American people don’t want?"
NEW: Rescue swimmer Scott Ruskan, who saved 165 people during the Texas floods, says he recently became a rescue swimmer and this was his first rescue mission.

“I had about 200 kids, mostly all scared, terrified cold, having probably the worst day of their life.”
“I just kind of need to triage them, get them to a higher level care and get them off the flood zone with a lot of the Army helicopters.”
Hero.

I'm hoping someone can get this in front of @elonmusk - I'm the Mayor of a Village in Upstate New York (Mayor Frank Rossi, Jr., R-Ballston Spa). Our Congressman, @RepPaulTonko (D-New York), worked with us to get our Village into the proposed 2025 Federal Budget for Community Development funding -- $500,000 for sidewalk repairs/installation (request was $3.775 million, but every dollar helps in a Village needing about $10 million in sidewalk funding over the next decade).
Funding like this is central to maintaining safety and health, especially for children, in a Village like ours, so I'd like to ask you:
Would you slash this funding in the Budget or support it, and for those of us who could use this funding ASAP to kickstart our sidewalk program, what can you do to help us see such bipartisan-supported funding arrive in our Village quickly despite the gridlock we're witnessing on Capitol Hill?
