There will be a significant risk for strong to severe thunderstorms beginning late Friday Afternoon through Friday Night across most of the Four State Region. Damaging thunderstorm wind gusts and tornadoes will be the main threats, along with large hail.

A light rain will begin spreading across portions of the area, mainly south of Interstate 20 by later this evening. A few pellets of sleet may be mixed in with the rain during its onset. However, no travel problems are expected. Rain will be diminishing by Thursday afternoon.
Rainfall amounts this weekend will generally range from 1-3 inches across the region. This is may lead to localized flash flooding, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas more prone to flooding. In addition, small rises may occur on area bayous, lakes, and rivers.
Severe weather will return to the region today through tonight. Most of the forecast area is included in an Enhanced Risk with the remaining area in a Slight Risk. Large hail, damaging winds, and potentially strong tornadoes will all be possible. Prepare your weather safety plan!
