I am a Christian, husband, father, and emergency physician in Nashville. Interested in UK athletics, urban development and neighborhoods, and electric vehicles.
@tetsuoai@elonmusk Don’t forget @boringcompany ! TBC has the potential to revolutionize the way cities move. I’m super excited to see the Vegas and Nashville loops change how people get around.
@Michael_L_Rauch@PaikinDK@Tesla Regen. Regen doesn’t actuate the brake lights until engaged at a certain level. Much like coasting in an ICE car except it slows at a faster rate.
@Michael_L_Rauch@Tesla It’s good you saw him, but how many time would a human have never seen him because the were on the phone, turning to ther kids in the back, or eating? AVs will be about as good as a humans paying attention, but are already better than a human not paying attention.
@Jason Careful, yes. Overly careful, no. The goal cannot be perfection or we will cause more deaths from humans continuing to drive. The goal is a 20% or 30% improvement. If everyone used a 25% safer autonomous system we would still have 75 deaths/day, but it would save 25 lives/day.
@Mattlinn01@SawyerMerritt They are still years ahead of their American competition, but have certainly fallen behind Chinese competition from a battery tech perspective the last 2-3 years. IMO a peak charge rate of 250kw is adequate if the charging curve could maintain that rate up to 60-80% SOC.
@NaftonColder@policelawnews Sorry, that doesn’t make sense. If that were the case then state troopers could act with impunity. All police have to obey the law just like all citizens. From all reporting it looks like the THP driver was speeding without an actual need, which is breaking the law.
@KySportsRadio It seems UK could finance this and amortize the payments over 5-10 years making this much less impactful in the short term. Since it’s a private entity now they should have access to private finance markets.
@InsideEVs Yet we rely upon human drivers to “break the law” in certain circumstances all the time. Rigid thinking like this doesn’t make our roads safer.
@MinimalDuck@Tesla This one hits home. I’m an emergency physician and dozed off on the interstate after staying late from an overnight shift. Autopilot was on so I still made it home in one piece.
@InsideEVs I think the reverse may be a better way of stating this. The Hyundai Ioniq 5, Chevrolet Equinox EV, and Ford Mustang Mach-E face stiff competition from the Tesla Model Y Standard.
@RiverBirchLove @1787VoiceOR@TheChiefNerd It can be misleading if you don’t include statistical analysis and evaluate for significance. As an example, if flipping a coin 50 times yields 27 heads and 23 tails, does that coin have a 17% higher chance of heads? No, it’s still 50/50.
@JoelSapp@TwoBitDaVinci@alex_avoigt Even at 11 kW range could be expanded quite a bit. An EV getting 4 miles/kWH and driving 60 mph would only consume 16 miles of range/hr. The road would produce 44 miles of range per hr and the car would use 60 miles of range per hr. That’s assuming the entire road is electrified.
@AmericanAir My BNA-DFW flight was cancelled Saturday. I had to rebook on @Delta to get to a meeting in time. Now my return DFW-BNA tomorrow flight isn’t showing up in my account and there’s a 4 hour wait to speak to customer service. Please help!
@talkingtesla@Rivian I’m surprised too and suspect both the R1T/R1S will be well received. The R1S is the only large, 3-row electric SUV at this point (MX is a little small). Lots of people, including myself, want that form factor for family purposes. It’s competitively priced for that class too.
@ggrezik@KrisChandler5 @BenMurphyTV You can’t review it because there’s not a camera angle that can give the right perspective. There would have to be a camera on the post looking straight up. Or get tennis replay tech.
